What is Resistor?

A resistor is a type of Passive Electrical Component that causes the flow of electric current to stop. This is called Resistors. When a current is drawn through the resistors, there is a lack of voltage at both its ends. Resistor

When you have come to know about Electricity then you must have known that all the materials are mainly divided into two Basic Categories which are as follows Conductors and Insulators where Conductors (Metals) allow electricity to flow from within or to flow On the other hand Insulators (Plastic) does not allow Electricity to flow from within.

The scientific reason for this is that the amount of resistance in those conductors is negligible and in the same insulators, the amount of resistance is very high. You must be wondering what is this resistance which means to create obstruction like- Also, the materials allow electricity from within itself, without interruption, the resistor is equal to no and in those which do not allow electricity, the amount of resistors is very high, the higher the resistor the more the resistance. symbolic of Resistor

Some such devices are also found in the market which can be manipulated in the Electrical Circuits according to themselves, such a device is called Resistor. A Resistor is a type of Passive Electrical Component that is made by Resistance. You can easily see it in an Electrical Network and Electronic Circuits. Resistance is the measurement of OHMS. OHM is called Resistance when a current is measured by an Ampere. It is extracted through a resistor which has less than 1 Voltage around both ends. This current is always equal to Voltage. This is called OHMS.

How Resistor Works?

Whenever one has to find the value of Resistance from Electric or Electronic Circuits, then you need a Resistor which can be used to reduce the value of current by joining with the Circuits. There are different types - first you have to remove the upper Outer Coating which is Insulating Paint, after that you see the Insulating Ceramic Rod which is in the middle. The copper turns number shows how much the value of this resistance is as thin as copper and the higher the resistance the higher the copper turns. The Smaller Value Resistor is designed for Lower Power Circuits but is replaced by Copper Winding with Spiral Pattern of Corbel. Such Resistors are very cheap to make and are also called Carbon Film.

Types of Resistor

There are mainly two types of resistors but they are separated and divided into several parts depending on its function and usage.

1. Fixed Resistors

Fixed Resistors are those whose Resistance changes slightly due to temperature, otherwise its temperature remains exactly the same. Fixed Resistors are also divided into some categories which are as follows.

i)Thin Film Resistors

Thin Film Resistors are made by mixing ceramic and resistive materials, and they are further divided into two parts, this resistance is made of good quality ceramic and hand made insulation around the rod, plate, tube. Material is wrapped well.

ii)Carbon Film Resistors

Carbon Film Resistors have a rod, core of Insulation Material made of high grade ceramic material on which its thin layer is mounted.

iii)Metal Oxide Resistors

To make Metal Oxide Resistors, a layer of Tin Chlorate is mounted on a heated glass rod by the oxidizing method to make Metal Oxide Resistors which are quite expensive and work well even at high temperatures. Used in high-voltage circuits.

iv)Fusible Resistor

It is like Wire Wound Resistor when the resistance of a circuit exceeds a Specified Value, then this resistance acts like Fused. It can open or open Circuits hence it is called Fusible Resistor. A Fusible Resistor can do two tasks at the same time - first it reduces the current flowing speed and second it also acts like a Fusible at the same time.

2. Variable Resistors

Variable Resistors are those that can be used to change a resistance value, this is the resistance we use to control the volume of the radio-TV. There is some type of resistance.

i)Potentiometer

Potentiometer Resistors is a Resistors that is used to control the level of a Circuits voltage. The total resistor of this Resistor is the Resistance between the two out-of-terminal terminals. Now to control this Resistance, use Wiper in the middle terminal Goes so that the right-to-left movement can be reduced to reduce the resistance more. Nowadays there are many such Resistors who are used in different devices, these Resistors give you radio and pur Ni-TV can be seen even today.

ii)Rheostats

In this Resistors we get to see two or three terminals and they are used to control the current, it is set manually to control the current and this Resistor is named as Tapped Resistors and Variable Wire Wound Resistors. also know as. Rheostats Resistors range from 1 OHMS to 150 OHMS and their power ranges from 3 W to 200 W but most of these are used from 5 W to 50 W Resistors.
